Let us learn the procedure to make delicious, hot and steaming Sabudana Khichadi.
Ingredients
- Sabudana (Sago) – 1/2 Kg
- Ground Nuts – roasted and ground – 1 bowl
- Green Chilly finely chopped – 8-10
- Sugar – to taste
- Salt – to taste
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tspn
- Potato – 2 medium cut into small pieces
- Coriander – finely chopped – 3 tbsp
- Ghee – 6-7 tbsp
Procedure
- Wash the Sago (Sabudana) in a big pot and soak it for about 1/2 hr.
- Now drain it completely and keep it aside for a whole night with the lid on.
- Mix the sabudana, ground nuts, sugar and salt both as per taste.
- Keep a sauce pan (Kadai) on medium flame and put the ghee into it.
- When the ghee is hot put cumin seeds, let them crack first then add green chilly.
- Stir it, add potato and allow it to cook for a while with the lid on.
- The potato will take 2-4 minutes to cook.
- Then add the sabudana mixture and mix it well.
- Cook for around 3-4 minutes with the lid on and then turn off the flame.
- Garnish with chopped coriander.
- Serve hot.
- Sprinkle some lemon juice while serving (optional).
