A warm, softly lit kitchen counter with earthenware bowls of spices in rich reds, yellows, and browns arranged on a worn wooden table, conveying a home-cooking atmosphere.

I am Gauree, a Beauty Therapist and a Hair Stylist by profession. I have completed my Graduation in Commerce. Since I am not practising my profession after marriage and am a housewife now, I decided to work on my second passion — and that's Cooking.

I feel cooking is the best way to communicate with people. I also like to learn and innovate new and interesting recipes and wanted to share them with others, so I published this blog — Soogran.com.

I'll basically be posting traditional Indian recipes, especially Maharashtrian dishes — many of them passed on from my grandparents. These are authentic, home-style recipes for special occasions, festivals, and fasting (Upwas) food items.

Beyond the kitchen, I enjoy several hobbies:

  • Warli painting
  • Pot art
  • Knitting
  • Watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and Desperate Housewives
  • Listening to music

Thank you for visiting — I hope you find something here that inspires your own cooking.
